This is the 13th consecutive opportunity to see the latest advances in diagnosis, treatment and emerging fields in haemoglobinopathies. It is an opportunity to interact on the latest advances in clinical care, transition services, and emerging new therapies including updates for curative treatment options.

This year’s theme is ‘Sickle Cell Disease and Thalassaemia: Bridging the Gap in Care and Research in order to improve outcomes for patients living with the disorders’.  

The event will be taking place on 22-24 October at etc. Venues, County Hall, London and will:

  1. Highlight key basic science in haemoglobinopathies including the mechanisms of chronic complications and end organ damage.

  2. Provide understanding about the impact of the disorders on patients, families and communities while displaying current knowledge used to transform health systems.

  3. Explore new drugs, curative therapies and genetic research.

The Conference is hosted by Evelina London Children’s Hospital, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
